William Everett Smith, age 93 of Clinton, Missouri passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton.
Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. Everett will lie in state from 12 Noon to 5:00 P.M. Friday and 8:30 A.M. unitl 1:30 P.M. Saturday at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton. Family suggests contributions to the C.A.R.E or Twin Lakes Hospice and may be left at the funeral home. Everett was born in Deepwater, Missouri. He was an Army Air Corp Veteran of W.W. II. He was the Henry County Clerk for 12 years and later the Clinton City Building Inspector. He was a fifty year member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge No. 548, the American Legion Post No 14 and the Deepwater Boat Ramp Association. He was a life long Democrat and an avid supporter of the schools in the Clinton School District.

He is survived by his two daughters, Sue Hills of Clinton and Carol Witherspoon and husband, Eddie of Harrisonville, Missouri and his grandchildren, Shannon Hills, Cristie Hills and Shane Hills, Mike Witherspoon and Brian Witherspoon and his great grandchildren, Katie and Wilson Hills.
