William L. Groves, age 81 of Clinton, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton. Family will receive friends one hour before the service on Sunday at the chapel. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 27, 2007 at White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone, Missouri. Family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association and may be left at the funeral home.

Bill was born in Ladue, Missouri. he worked as a clerk for the M.K.T. Railroad and later worked for Interstate Motor Lines for 29 years before retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Englewood Baptist Church, Gladstone, Missouri. He was a member of the Pittsburg, Missouri V.F.W. and the Eagles.

He is survived by his wife, June of the home; one son, Mike Groves and wife, Susan of Kansas City, Missouri and one daughter, Cheryl Abou-El-Ella and husband Mina of Overland Park, Kansas, and their mother Jeane Groves of Gladstone, Missouri; five grandchildren, Alex Groves, Joe Groves, Laura Groves, Rachel Barnes and Katie Barnes; two great grandchildren, Zachary Wolf and Tori Moffett; four step-sons, Eric Stumpner and wife, Debbie of Kansas City, Kansas, Scott Stumpner and wife, Tammie of Edgerton, Missouri, Van Stumpner of Mustang, Oklahoma and Dirk Stumpner of Salina, Kansas and one nephew, James Groves of North Carolina.
