Wilbur was born on December 28, 1940 to Harve Turley and Oleva Faye (Allen) Slocum at Clear Branch near Gerster, Missouri. He was the oldest of two children.

Wilbur married the love of his life, Anita Joan Kottwitz on May 1, 1965 in Osceola, Missouri. They celebrated their 55 th wedding anniversary earlier this year.

They moved to Clinton in 1967 where they raised their three precious daughters; Stacey Ordal, (James Ordal) of Ozark, Missouri, Pam Jones (Chet Jones) of Clinton and Jill Bernard of Clinton.

He was a doting grandfather to Jeremy Campbell, Colton and Garett Ordal, Alex, Zach and Abby Jones and great grandchildren Erison and Abrynn Maxwell and Embree Campbell his "Pip-squeak."

Wilbur was a highly respected loan officer at PCA, FCS and UMB in many counties; helping everyone he could in any way he could. He was a friend to many.

His battle with cancer was just that a battle, but it did not defeat him. He was continuing the fight for his life when the good Lord took him home.

Farming and raising cattle were some of his greatest loves. If he was spraying pastures and fence rows, cutting thistles and cedars, mending fences, baling hay, brush hogging pastures all with his most devoted sidekick and gate getter ever, Anita, he was truly the happiest.

Wilbur shared his love of the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. From fishing, hunting, working cattle and building fence, he did it with a smile and genuine love.

His kindness was abounding and his faithfulness to God, family and country will never be forgotten.

He was welcomed to his heavenly home by his parents, grandparents, brother-in-law and other cherished family members and friends.

When he left this world, he was doing what made him happy; he was on his tractor at the farm.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton.
