Warren Dean Terry -- January 14, 1929 – May 3rd, 2013
Warren Terry, Age 84 of Clinton Missouri, passed away on May 3rd in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He has left this earth to join his Father and Mother, William and Erna Terry; his brother Bill Terry and sister Audrey Dyer.
He is survived by the love of his life, soul mate and wife of nearly 64 years, Virginia; daughter Sandy Dodge (Doug), son Wayne Terry (Deborah), Sister-in-law Patsy Terry, 4 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. He will also be deeply missed by several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Warren met his wife Virginia when they were both attending College High in Warrensburg, and he knew from that moment she was the only one for him.
Warren was genuinely liked and respected by any one he ever met. The term most often used when anyone was describing Warren was what a "Gentlemen" he was.
Warren worked for Rinas Plumbing in Raytown, Missouri for several years before coming to Clinton and opening Terry's Place west of Clinton on Highway 7. He also owned and operated Terry's Plumbing in Clinton alongside his son Wayne. As one of the hardest working members of the Clinton Eagles, he was instrumental in the growth of the Lodge from its first home over the Jewelry store on the square to its present location, and is a member of the Missouri State Eagles Hall of Fame. He was also a past member of the Elks Lodge. He and Virginia spent many wonderful years square dancing, bowling, and travelling to Eagle functions all over the country.
Please join his family and many friends in a celebration to honor the life of this wonderful man at the Clinton Eagles Lodge,
723 N. 3rd St., on Saturday, May 11th at 1:00 pm. A dinner provided by the Eagles Aerie and Auxiliary will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest donations to Twin Lakes Hospice in Clinton, without whose loving help and care the past few months would have been impossible.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton. Fond memories may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.
