Walter Mcfadden
Jr.
Mar 18, 1947 — Jun 9, 2022
Lincoln
Walter McFadden Jr., age 75, of Lincoln, Missouri departed this life surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, June 9, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on June 17, 2022 at Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Henry County Memory Fund and can be left in care of the Funeral Home.
Walter was born and raised in Clinton, MO and made his home in the Benton/Henry County area. He loved the Truman Lake area and always said this would be his forever home. He owned and operated McFadden's Roller Rink in 1979 and was a member of the Clinton Saddle Club for several years. He worked for many years at Clearfield (now Schreiber's) and Rival Manufacturing where he was a plant manager for White Mountain, a division of Rival.
In 1988 Walter met the love of his life, his wife of 32 years, Robin (Mullins). They were married on May 5, 1990.
Walter aka "the Mountain Man" will always be known as the fix-it do all man. There wasn't much he didn't know how to fix and if he didn't know, he would work at it until he did. He was a man of many interests and hobbies over his lifetime. He loved horses, fishing, camping, hunting, all things science, reading, cooking, back roading through the Ozarks in their 1967 Pontiac Catalina and learning new things. He owned and read every Louis L'Amour book and loved a good western. Wherever he was, a western was sure to be on. After his retirement he spent his time fishing and in his hobby room, reloading bullets or cleaning his guns.
He is survived by his wife Robin K. McFadden, his children: Carolyn Graves (Stevo), Jason McFadden (Kim), Dianna Mullins (Donnie), April Irwin (Jeff), Walter R. McFadden III (Shirley), Tiffany Snow (Joe), 14 grandkids and 8 great grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents Walter R. McFadden Sr. and Elizabeth McFadden (LaFavor) and one grandson, Dillon Irwin.
"It ain't dying I'm talking about, its living. I doubt it matters where you die, but it matters where you live." -Robert Duvall as Gus in Lonesome Dove-
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
