Veryl Lee Jones, age 87 of Clinton, Missouri passed away January 5, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the First Baptist Church, Clinton with burial in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. Family will receive friends one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church. Family suggests contributions to the First Baptist Church and may be left at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton.


Veryl was born in Calhoun, Missouri. He was an Army veteran of W. W. II. He was the advertising manager for the Angus Journal before retiring in l984. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton, University of Missouri Alumni Association, Missouri Cattleman Association, American Angus Association and the Retired Officers Association.


He is survived by two sons, Jay Jones and wife, Nannette of Kansas City, Missouri and Mike Jones and wife, Cherye of Clinton and three grandsons, Dylan Jones, Stanton Jones and Christian Jones.
