Velva Elizabeth King, age 69 of Clinton, Missouri passed away Tuesday September 12,2023 at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada Missouri. Funeral service of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, September 18, 2023 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel in Clinton, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 2:30 PM prior to the service. Burial to follow in Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri. Memorial contributions can be made to the Allen Street Baptist Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Velva was born on January 28, 1954, in Clinton, Missouri to Garold "Sonny" Lloyd King and Opal Elizabeth (Higgins) King.  Velva was a lifelong resident of Clinton, Missouri and was a member of Allen Street Baptist Church for many years.

Velva enjoyed her lottery tickets and was an avid thrifter and well known at the local thrift store. She was a volunteer for the Samaritan Center and had her own daycare that she ran in her home. Family meant the world to her. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren whenever she could. She also loved giving hugs. She always made sure she hugged everyone when she arrived and left.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Gary King.

Survivors include her son Adam and wife Gina Witherspoon of Garnett, Kansas, her sister Loretta Marie Meyer of Warsaw, Missouri, 5 grandchildren Brook Witherspoon of Clinton, Mo, Madeline Witherspoon of Nevada, MO, Reese Witherspoon, Reagan Witherspoon and Chance Witherspoon all of Garnett, KS.   4 great grandchildren, several cousins, and a host of other family and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
