Van D. Waite, 72, of Clinton died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Golden Living Center-Westwood, Clinton. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with burial in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. Family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:00 on Saturday at the chapel. Family suggests contributions to the VFW Honor Guard Post 1894, Clinton, American Legion Post 14, Clinton, Clinton Animal Shelter (C.A.R.E.) or the American Cancer Society.

Van was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a member of Northeast Baptist Church, Americn Legion Post 14 and the Honor Guard of VFW Post 1894, all in Clinton.

Van was preceded in death by his parents and his fiancée, Lela Kreglinger. Survivors include: his sister, Nancy S. Culbertson of Overland Park, KS; nephew, Gregory J. Culbertson and his wife Erin of Shawnee, KS; niece, Carrie L. Arrocha, her husband Mike and son Austin of Jacksonville, FL; and his cousins, Linda Barrett and husband Bob of Independence MO, Beverly Anderson of Leawood, KS, Margaret Burge of Columbia, MO; and James McCubbin of Cedartown, GA.
