Tommie Martin McClain Sr., age 81, of rural Montrose, Missouri, passed away Friday , March 11th, 2022 at his home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the First Assembly Of God Church in Clinton, Missouri with visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial to follow in Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, Missouri. Memorial contributions can be made to the Tommie McClain, Sr. Memorial Fund and can be left in care of the funeral home. Tommie Martin McClain, Sr. was born January 4, 1941 to Martin and Jeffella (McElrath) McClain in Paducah, Kentucky.  At the age of 81, he departed this life March 11, 2022 in his home in Montrose, Missouri.

He was married to Sheila J. (Turner) McClain for 37 years.

There were three places Tommie was generally found if you were looking for him, mowing a yard, working in the garden, or sitting on the fishing bank.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, and five nieces and nephews.

He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters: Lauren Lewis of Atlanta, GA; Denise (Dale) Jones of Columbia, MO.; Amy Holmes of Roswell, GA.; and Tina (Melissa Pagitt) McClain of Montrose, MO. and one son Tommie (Stephanie) McClain, Jr. of Montrose, MO., three brothers: Larry McClain of Columbia, MO., Paul (Dorothy) McClain of Cape Girardeau, MO., and Winfred (Sylvia) McClain of Kansas City, MO., three sisters: Elaine (Mac Jones) McClain of Columbia, MO., Joanne Yancey of Columbia, MO, and Mary (Alex) Sipho of Kansas City, MO., fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
