Steven Gauge Marion Cope III, age 6 weeks, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at Women's and Children's Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 12, at 2pm with visitation from 1:00-2:00pm at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Gauge Cope memorial fund and may be left in care of the funeral home. On March 22nd, 2016 Steven "Gauge" Marion Cope III was born at 2:34 a.m. He weighed 9 lbs and 8.5 oz and was 22 inches long. He had a full head of black hair and had the most kissable cheeks. His mother, Rachael Stadter, fell in love with him the minute she laid eyes on him. All of his friends and family gushed over how sweet and snuggly he was. On May 5th, 2016, the unthinkable happened, Gauge was found unresponsive and rushed to the hospital. He was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his passing. May 6, 2016.

Gauge was preceded in death by his great grandpa Bob Barnett.

Gauge is survived by his mother Rachael Alene Stadter, and father Steven Michael Marion Cope JR, grandparents; Danny and KiKi DesCombes, Steven and Venice Cope, great grandparents; Jeane Barnett, Charlie and Dorcas DesCombes, Harvey Cope, aunts and uncles; Todd DesCombes, Tori Wirsig, Tina DesCombes, Joe Cope, Kourtney Cope, and Lexi "Curls" Cope, along with many amazing great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and second cousins.
