Sheri Ann
Strouse
Aug 30, 1957 — Aug 8, 2025
Clinton
Sheri Ann Strouse age 67, of Clinton, Missouri, passed away, Friday, August 8th, 2025, at her home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Henry County Library and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Born on August 30, 1957, Sheri was the oldest daughter of Lora Iris (Knisely) Thompson and Nolan Thompson. She spent much of her childhood in the Clinton and Deepwater area, especially cherishing her time at her Grandma and Grandpa Knisely's farm.
On Christmas Eve, 1975, Sheri married the love of her life, Thomas "Tom" Strouse. Together they welcomed three children — Hayli, Thomas, and Dillon — and built a home filled with laughter, food and comfort that made everyone feel welcome. In her own words, "Mom is who I am, and it's the most important job I've ever done." Sheri was "Mom" not only to her own children, but to countless friends who found open arms in her home.
Sheri worked in a variety of places in Clinton, but was most notably known for her many years at Blue Ribbon Bakery, working alongside her lifelong best friend, Katie Daugherty. Together, they served up the cinnamon rolls, holiday sugar cookies, and friendly smiles that became part of Clinton's traditions.
A lifelong learner, Sheri loved reading and had a deep interest in the sociology and ideologies of religion. She enjoyed evening drives down the quiet country roads near her home, watching deer and turkey in the fields. She found joy in cooking special birthday dinners — a tradition she carried on long after her children were grown — and her happiest moments were those spent surrounded by her family, watching her grandchildren laugh, play, and simply be.
Sheri was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sheila McDonald. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tom Strouse; her three loving children, Hayli Strouse Beebe (Bahrain), Thomas Strouse II (Jennifer) of Centerview, and Dillon Strouse (Tiffany) of Clinton; six treasured grandchildren, Taylar, Aidan, Addison, Sidney, Thomas "Mason," and Truman "Marx"; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Sadie; her sister Cindy Ryles; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Sheri's life was a testament to the quiet strength of love, the importance of family, and the impact one person can have simply by caring deeply for others. She will be missed beyond measure.
