Sharon Beaty, of Clinton, Missouri, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, at Adair Village, Clinton, Missouri. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 13, 2026 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Clinton. Sharon Ann Beaty was born on April 14, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in Kansas City, Kansas. Sharon graduated from Turner High School in 1966, and graduated from CMSU in 1969. She married Mike Beaty in 1968 and together they raised four boys on their family farm near Norris. She taught school in Missouri for 25 years, taught English in Beihai, China 2 years and a 2nd generation American on her mom's side whom immigrated from Sicily.
Sharon was raised in a large extended Sicilian family, with many cousins, aunts, and uncles. She raised a large family, including many kids who were not hers, but she thought of our friends as her kids too. Many mornings she woke to several of her other kids sacked out on the couch, or the floor.
She was tough, but gentle. Many times she lined us out with a wooden spoon to the backside, and then dried our tears over a lost pet, or a broken heart. To us, she feared nothing! Once after 9/11 she flew down to the islands to see the twins. Someone asked her if she was afraid of terrorists, she replied "Scared of terrorists? No... I raised four boys"!
Sharon leaned on her faith a lot! Raising four boys is not easy! From multiple crashed pickups, kids operating farm equipment, Jess being in the hospital after his wreck, Todd, and Chad moving to the Caribbean to start a restaurant business to Matt trucking all over North America, she prayed... A LOT!!
In 25 years of teaching, she taught well over 500 children to read, and write, 22 of those years were in Clinton. Most likely you know someone who was in Mrs. Beaty's class.
Sharon also spent two years teaching in Beihai, China. The first year she taught English at a Chinese university. The second year she taught English to the children of the employees of a Dutch lumber company. She loved her experiences in China.
She is preceded in death by her parents Russel "Bud" Foster and Jennie Foster, her brother Carl Simonie, and niece Gia Simonie.
Survivors include her four sons; Matthew (Kimberly) Beaty of Blairstown, Mo, Todd (Courtney Turner) Beaty of St John USVI, Chad (Michelle Jones) Beaty of Clinton, Mo, and Jess Beaty of Clinton, Mo, four granddaughters; Chelsie Beaty, Lacy Beaty, Miranda Beaty, Paige McNabb, three grandsons; Bannon Beaty, Max Beaty, Turner Beaty, two nephews; Jon Simonie, Paul Simonie, along with several cousins, and many friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vansant-mills funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.
