Sebastian Benardino Ladd 22, of Clinton, MO passed away July 14, 2019 peacefully in his sleep at his home in Clinton. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com . Funeral service will be on Saturday, July 20 at 11am with visitation one hour prior at the First Baptist Church, Clinton, Missouri. Interment will be at 3pm at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens, Lee's Summit, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the Sebastian Benardino Ladd Memorial Fund and may be left in care of the funeral  home.

Sebastian Benardino Ladd was born in Clinton, MO on June 19, 1997 to proud parents Eric Ladd and Suzette Haidusek Vallentine. When everyone seen him for the first time, they couldn't help to notice how perfect he was, especially his lips. At one month, his mother became ill and received a life saving heart transplant that started his role as her protector forever.

When Sebastian was 5 years old his step-father Mike Vallentine came into his life when he married Suzette. With Mike came a whole new family of Vallentine's/Young's /Ballards. Mike filled the day to day role of parent, coach, teacher, and buddy by helping teach Sebastian to ride a bike, play baseball, wrestling, fishing, and structure while willingly coexisting with Sebastian's dad, Eric, as he brought a brother, Corbin, and sister, Isabella, into his life.

Sebastian developed a love for wresting by joining the Clinton Youth Wrestling Club at age 6 along with a love for playing youth football with Truman Lake Youth Sports. As an Offensive Lineman, protecting his cousin Austin, who was the quarterback, was very important to him and gave him a sense of pride. His love for wresting and football followed him all the way through his high school years. Sports were not the only passion Sebastian had at an early age. At 7 years old, reading became an even bigger passion, so much that he won a medal in high school by accumulating 806 AR points which translates to thousands of books.

Sebastian was a 2016 graduate of Clinton High School.

Along the way, Sebastian was blessed with three more sisters, Dakoda, Lily-Ann, and Bonnie Sue and a large family. Sebastian made sure he kept in touch with all his cousins and close friends by calling them and asking how they were and if they needed anything. He was always trying to get you a gift and remembered the littlest thing you might have wanted or needed and was always thinking about someone other than himself.

Music and Movies!!! Our dear son was an addict! From the age of 1 watching movies and listening to music was a priority!! No matter the genre or era, he loved them all. Sebastian always wanted you to listen to the latest music he found no matter how strange or old it might have been. He was always eager to go to the movies with mom and dad, Suzette and Eric, which he did often and he loved performing in show choir, singing, filming and editing on Cards TV. Sebastian's love for movies and music was so strong that it brought him to Avila University where he started out as a Radiologic Science Major until he confessed to his mother that Radiology just wasn't for him. Entering his Junior year, Sebastian found his passion in Digital Media and Film where he began to chase his dream of being a film editor and would have been entering his Senior year as a 2021 graduate of Avila University.

While attending Avila University, Sebastian resided in Lee's Summit where his father Eric and Sebastian grew extremely close. They loved to eat good food, watch movies, and play poker along with his brother Corbin and close friends Geno, Vince, Kevin, and Don. Sebastian also loved going fishing and helping Dave at his house, mushroom hunting with Grandpa Frank, arrowhead hunting with Grandma RoseAnn, shooting guns with Grandpa Jeff, wrestling around with Uncle Mark, spending time with Aunt Jackie, playing games with Isaac, spending time with his brother and sisters, and mostly spending time with his momma who he loved more than life itself.

Sebastian wasn't your typical boy/man. He was different. We looked at him and we knew he was different so we tried to make him more like us to protect him. He was never meant to be like us, God made him different on purpose-perfect for this time to show us how to live like Sebastian, give like Sebastian, forgive like Sebastian, and mostly love like Sebastian.
