Ruby M Portwood, daughter of Homer and Ethel Spickler, was born March 30, 1929 in Henry County, and died Saturday Feb 8th at NorthCare Hospice in North Kansas City Missouri.

Ruby moved to Kansas City in 1945 and later married Curtis E Portwood on September 6th, 1947. Their marriage lasted 55 years until his death in 2002.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Phyllis and Mary, and brother Tommy.

She is survived by three sons, Steve Portwood and wife, Vicki, Anchorage Alaska, Scott and Renee Portwood, Gladstone, and Kevin Portwood, St. Joeseph, Missouri; one daughter Jo Anne Warford of Nevada, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jeff and Jason (Sasha) Portwood of Anchorage, Alaska, Chris Portwood and Megan (Robert) Hoops of Kansas City, and Niesha Warford, Nevada, MO; two great-children Lila and Emily; sisters Judy, Sharon and Annette; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at the Vansant-Mills Chapel in Clinton, Missouri on Saturday Feb 22nd. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with Services to follow at 2 p.m.
