Roy L. Evans, age 83, of Clinton, Missouri, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri, on Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, with burial in the Deepwater Cemetery, Deepwater, Missouri. Roy was born in Chanute, Kansas. He was retired from West Central in the Maintenance Dept.

Among survivors include his wife, Doris Evans of the home; five sons, Robert Evans and Johnny Evans both of Madison, Kansas, Donald E. Evans of Clinton, Missouri, Tommy Evans of Rockville, Missouri, and Ronnie Evans of Riverside,California; two step-sons Dennis Ray Witherspoon of Foss, Oklahoma and Edwin Dewayne Witherspoon of Osceola, Missouri; two step-daughters, Jo Ann Taylor and Darlene Herron both of Clinton, Missouri; one step-daughter-in-law, Shirley Witherspoon; two brothers, Eugene Evans and wife, Sherry of Fall River, Kansas and Dean Evans and wife, Arlene of Chanute, Kansas; one sister, Juanita Ward and husband, Wayne of Geneva, Nebraska; as well as 38 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and 34 great great grandchildren.
