Ronald Joe Young Sr., 72 of Clinton, Missouri passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at his home in Clinton. Ronald's wishes were to be cremated with private family inurnment in Deepwater Cemetery, Deepwater, Missouri at a later date.  Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com .

Ronald was born April 28, 1946 in Clinton, Missouri the son of Walter Young, Sr. and Marcella Dunning.  He was a United States Army Veteran and served his country in the Korean War.  Ronald owned and operated Young Medical Transport.  In his earlier years he worked as a police officer and served as Mayor of Deepwater, Missouri.  Ronald was a member of Clinton Eagles and VFW Post #1894.  He enjoyed drinking coffee and spending time with his friends.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by 5 children; Ronald J. Young, Jr. of Nevada, Missouri, Kevin Young of Billings, Missouri, Betty Jo Young of Springfield, Missouri, Donald Kottwitz (Donna) of Warrensburg, Missouri and Paul Kottwitz of Kansas City, Missouri, 3 brothers; John Young (Janet) of Clinton, Missouri, Gerald 'Pete' Young (Mary) of Deepwater, Missouri and Gary Young (Loretta) of Kansas City, Missouri, 2 sisters, Susan Witherspoon of Deepwater, Missouri and Dena Young of Clinton, Missouri, 12 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family.
