Robert A. Sanders, age 71, of Osceola, Missouri passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at his home.  Robert's wishes were to be cremated.  No services are scheduled at this time.  Fond memories and condolences can be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com .


Robert was born August 18, 1945 in Lillie, Louisiana.  He was adopted and raised by Thelma Louise Blackwell and Joe Thomas Sanders.  He grew up in Beaumont, Texas then lived for a while in Puerto Rico with his parents.  He grew up in the Methodist Church.  He served in the Marines March 31, 1964 to October 17, 1967.  He received the good conduct medal with 2 battle stars and the National Defense Service medal.  He was an honorable discharge.  He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing and being outdoors.  Robert was known to be a very helpful and giving person.  He was a great handyman.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Darlene Quint of the home, two daughters, Tracy (Tim) Lawrence and Pamela (Freddy Joe) Gamble; five granddaughters, Brittany Michelle Sanders, Ashley Nicole Gilbert, Stormy Nicole Rinehart, Amber Lynn Rinehart, and Allie Danielle Rinehart;
six great-grandchildren, Eben Allen Hodges, Sjair Bentley Martindale, Zoey Jane Dawson, Paris Layne Martindale, Josie Ava Michelle Dawson, and Liam Ross Lawrence; and his extended family, daughter Liz Brown, son, David (Stacy) Brown, grandchildren, Emily and Alex Golden, Madeline Enos and Malaki Brown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.
