Robert E. Himes, age 85 years, passed away at his home on September 6, 2015. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015, 2:00 PM at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri. Visitation will take place Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 6-8:00 PM at the Vansant-Mills Chapel. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Twin Lakes Hospice. Robert was born October 06, 1929 in Ringold, PA the son of Russell and Alta (Rietz) Himes. He was united in marriage to Sara (Brocious) Himes, and to this union four sons were born. Robert worked in transportation for a Cheese Company. He enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting and fishing, bee keeping, also woodworking and antiquing. His memberships included Clinton United Methodist Church, Mason, and Ararat Shriners. Robert also had his pilots license. He was so proud of his grandkids and how their lives have turned out. On September 05, 2015 he and his wife Sara celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Robert is survived by his wife, Sara, of the home; four sons, Gary Himes (Denise) of Kansas City, Missouri, Terry Himes (Laura) of Clinton, Missouri, David Himes (Judy) of Clinton, Missouri, and Danny Himes (Sherry) of Clinton, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and three siblings, Schenly Himes of Dubois, Pennsylvania, Martha Hinderliter of Mayport, Pennsylvania, and Geraldine Reardon of Bloomington, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Abe Himes; three sisters, Mae Harriger, Audrey McIntyre, and Goldie Park, and one great-granddaughter, Anna Himes.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri.
