Robert or "Bob" as he was called by his friends, joined the army in 1951 as a Private and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1954. He married M. Francene Miller on April Fool's Day 1956 and were married 50 years before Francene went to be with the Lord in August 2006. To this union 3 girls were born. Cheryl "Cheri" and husband Larry Swann, Teresa and Christine both deceased, one son Robert T. Hill and wife Michelle. Bob had 6 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 7 great-granddaughters, 6 great-grandsons and 4 great-great- granddaughters along with many, many nieces and nephews.
Bob often said that it got quite lonely, as most of his friends and brothers and sisters were already gone. He loved to sit on his porch and watch the hummingbird he called "Fattie", who came back year after year.
"Smile at your neighbors, talk to the elderly, do some random act of kindness and Pray" as Bob said a few weeks before he died. "If you need to ask for forgiveness you better not wait-before it's too late." He had a way of being blunt and not very tactful.
You know- Tomorrow is not promised, but we are here today, so remember to tell your loved ones you love them and how special they are. Remind them that death is not the end and this is where he left his mark on the world, Good or Bad, He lived his life - his way!
