Robert "Bob" Edward Burke, age 85, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Golden Living Center (Westwood), Clinton.  Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton with visitation held 10:00-11:00 AM.  Interment will be in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton.  Family suggests memorial contributions to Twin Lakes Hospice or C.A.R.E.(Clinton Animal Rescue Endeavor) and may be left in care of funeral home.  Condolences and fond memories may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com .

He was born April 1, 1933 in Clinton. Bob was the son of Frank and Nellie Burke. Bob married Gloria Jean Gumm on May 16, 1981, and she survives of the home. Bob graduated from Clinton High School. He was employed by Price Right, Kroger's and IGA, all grocery businesses. He was produce manager for 31 years. He retired from the grocery business, and then was employed by Clinton Public Schools as the Custodian at Jefferson Park School. He then was a crosswalk guard several years for the school system. After he retired from the school system, he volunteered at the Clinton Senor Center, where he enjoyed meeting and visiting with people when they came to enjoy their meals. Bob was an Avid Outdoors-man, he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son Doug and grandson Tyler. In 2006 Bob received the Heart Of Gold Award, presented here in Clinton. He was among 38 other nominees who were nominated by the community residents.

In addition to his wife Gloria, Bob is survived by a daughter Susan Kaiser, her husband Kenny, and a son Doug Burke and wife Lesa all of Clinton. A granddaughter Emily Burke and grandson Tyler Burke both of Clinton. A sister Mary Frances Romero and husband Geno of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins, and his beloved pet cat Missy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter Natalie Burke.
