Richard A. Hill, age 72 of Clinton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at his home. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Vansant-Mills Chapel from 5-6 P.M. before services. Funeral services will be at 6:00 P.M. and cremation to follow. Family suggests contributions to Clinton Animal Rescue Endeavor (C.A.R.E.) or the American Heart Association and may be left at the funeral home.  Fond memories may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com .

Rick was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Rosco and Omalee Hill.  He lived in Salem, West Virginia for a period and eventually moved to Rome, New York where he attended school at Rome Free Academy prior to being drafted into the United States Army in January 1968.  He served his country honorably for nearly two years which included a 1-year tour in Vietnam before being discharged in December of 1969.  Rick attended Northwest Missouri State University and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in December 1974.  He spent most of his working years with the state of Missouri Division of Family Services.

Rick was a member of the Clinton Church of Christ where he served as a deacon as well as a member of VFW Post 1894 of Clinton.  He loved the outdoors and spent much of his leisure time in gardening, hunting, and fishing.

Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and a brother, Alden.  He is survived by his wife, Marlene of the home, sisters Brenda Breitenstein and Deborah Hill, sons Richard Mitchell and Jacob Hill, daughters April (Robert) Drescher and Michelle Houk of Clinton, grandchildren Brett Hill, Benjamin Hill, Trey Hill, Vanessa Hill, Dru Hill, Phoenix Hill,  William Drescher, Zackery (Lizzy)  Drescher,  Cheyenne Houk, and great grandchildren Genesis and Moses Drescher.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.
