Phillip Mikel "Mike" Parks, 70, Clinton, Missouri passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at his home in Clinton. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com . A Celebration of Mike's Life will be on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 7:30pm at the Clinton Elks Lodge with a friends gathering at 6:30pm also at the Lodge. The family has suggested memorial contributions to go to Heartland Hospice and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Phillip Mikel "Mike" was born on November 27, 1948 to Phillip William and Gloria Jean (Ward) Parks. He had 2 siblings, Stephen Ward and Gail Jeane. Mike graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1966 in Sedalia MO.  He served 4 years in the United States Navy. Mike married Linda Sue Gerding in 1974 and had two children Phillip William and Brandi Lynn. He worked at Peabody Coal for 10 1/2 years.  Mike served on Clinton City Council 3rd Ward for 4 years, Mayor Pro Tem for 2 years and chairman of public works for 2 years. Mike enjoyed working on cars, going to swap meets and car shows.
Mike was preceded in death by his father Phillip William Parks, mother Gloria Jean Warnock, sister Gail Jayan Heimsoth, and son Phillip William Parks.
Mike is survived by wife Linda Sue Parks, daughter Brandi Lynn Engelhart and husband Andrew, and grandchildren Ella and Kory Berg, Sydney and Olivia Parks, brother, Stephen (Deborah) Parks, nieces Tamie McDonald and Susan Keidgh and nephew Alex Hemisoth.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.
