Patricia was born to the late Ernest and Margaret(Lormor)Jones on October 19, 1947 in Paola, but grew up in Osawatomie, Kansas. She had a lifelong love of music and the arts, which led her to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Baker University, where she made many wonderful memories with her Alpha Chi Omega sisters. As a music teacher, Patricia loved sharing her passion for the arts with her students. She touched many lives during her teaching career at Cherokee Elementary School (Overland Park, Kansas) and Clinton Middle School. Patricia was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church and its choir. She also directed the music and choir at Holy Rosary Catholic Church for a period of time, which is the church where her beloved husband, Paul, is a member. Patricia was open-minded, selfless, fun-loving and hardworking. She loved all people fiercely and believed in leaving the world a better place than she found it. Over the course of her life, she worked tirelessly for community projects and organizations she believed in, helping to found the Friends of the Library and sitting on the Henry County Library Board for 20 years; serving on the Board of the Samaritan Center for 17 years; bringing community organizations together by founding A.W.A.C. (Agencies Working And Communicating); as a member of Chapter EN of P.E.O.; and volunteering for Meals on Wheels, teaching others to read through the Library's literacy program and assisting her husband with fundraising for the Truman Lake Cancer Relief Fund. She was also a member of Study Club, DAR and enjoyed participating in several Bridge and Bunco groups. Patricia loved traveling, working in her yard, and being "Grammy" to her only grandchild Maggie, who was one of the highlights of her life.
