She was born in Osceola, Missouri and grew up there. Pat was a member of the Osceola Church of the Brethren, where she was baptized at an early age. She later moved to Kansas City, Missouri working at AT&T and marrying a hometown boy Kenneth Dempsey. Then they moved back to Osceola where they started a family. Later marrying John Greife and moving to Henry County on the lake. Pat had several jobs in her lifetime from being a nurse aide at Osceola Hospital, working at Rod and Gun, and owning with her husband John, the Civic Movie Theatre where she became mom to lots of teenagers as well as hosting lots of foster kids in their day.
Some of her greatest joys came from her children and grandchildren. She had always wanted a sister and got brothers, brothers who she absolutely adored. Her dad had told her she'd have to have her own girls and she did. She got two.
In later years, Pat and John cared over Bristol Manor until retirement. Some of their favorite memories were boating days on Pomme de Terre Lake and loved to go to Reno and Las Vegas. Pat was an avid gardner in her early years. She loved to crochet, sew, and quilt. She had a knack for it and it showed. Pat loved poodles she had several throughout the years and they were a joy to her. Pat also loved westerns and old movies, there is no way of knowing how many she watched.
She loved to watch the Price Is Right, the ones with Bob Barker were her favorites, she did not care for the other guy, she'd say. LOL She was a sweet friend, a caring mother and doting grandma. She will be missed!
