Patricia M. Garner, age 86 of Bennington, Vermont passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 at her home. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with burial in the Mullin Cemetery, Urich, Missouri. Family will receive friends one hour before the service on Wednesday at the chapel. Family suggests contributions to the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center or Second Chance Animal Shelter and may be left at the funeral home. Patricia was born in Shreveport, Louisiana the daughter of Hugh Murphy and Mary Hattie (Martin) Murphy. She married Bertis (Bill) M. Garner and they managed a ranch in Freeman, Missouri where they raised Black Angus cattle. Following retirment the moved to the Lake of the Ozarks. After Bill died on December 30, 1988 she moved to Bennington, Vermont to be closer to her daughter's family.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Ronald B. Garner.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Yorke and husband, Harvey of Bennington, Vermont; five grandchildren, Ron Garner II, Carrie Garner and Shawna Garner, all of Kansas City, Kansas, Jeremy Yorke and wife, Nicole Matte of Hoosick Falls, New York and Nathan Yorke and wife, Nichole of Detroit, Michigan; six great grandchildren, Jacob and Jordan Matte-Yorke, Emma and Elijah Yorke and Chase and Garrett Garner as well as three step great grandchildren, Zach, Chloe and Joel Cholette.
