Orval "Jack' Wayne Smith, Sr., age 75 years, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. A memorial service will be held 2:30pm Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, Missouri. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice and can be left in care of the funeral home. Jack was born November 1, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Orval and Myrtle (Fitzwater) Smith. He enjoyed hunting, raising rabbits and chickens, and watching old Westerns, especially ones starring John Wayne. Jack loved his coon dogs and beagles. Most of all he loved his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lana Jean Todd in 2007, and one son, Daniel Joseph Smith.

Survivors include four children; Orval Smith, Jr., Michael Todd, both of the home, Catherine Martin (Scott), and Jeanne Strawbridge, both of Clinton, Missouri, eight siblings; Bill Smith (Sharon) of Independence, Missouri, Joe Smith of Kansas City, Missouri, Jerry Smith (Linda) of Versailles, Missouri, Ronnie Smith of Independence, Missouri, Barbara Smith of Kansas City, Missouri, Janet Elpers of Stover, Missouri, Carol Smith of Nebraska, and Sue Marriott of Stover, Missouri, five grandchildren; Calvin Mothersbaugh, Joshua Richerson, Brady Martin, Levi Martin, and Allie Martin, and five great-granddaughters; Emma, Zoey, Brilee, Lynnex, and Rowan.
