Orbin Emerson Burt, age 103, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Oak Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Oak Grove, Missouri. Funeral Services will be Monday, May 7, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at Vansant-Mills Chapel, 314 West Jefferson St. Clinton, MO, with interment in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Grain Valley and they may be left in care of the funeral home. Orbin was born December 4, 1908 near Macksville, Kansas, the son of Jeff and Mary Burt. Orbin was a postal worker in Kansas City from 1936 until he retired in 1969. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Grain Valley.

Orbin was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, Glee Merrill Burt; his parents, Jeff and Mary Burt; four brothers, Melvin, Stafford, Radford and Gorden and three sisters, Rowena, Maybelle and Wilma.

He is survived by one son, Donald C. Burt and wife, Karen of Blue Springs, MO; one daughter, Christine E. Burt of Oak Grove, MO; sisters, Bernice Shaw of Parsons, Kansas, Vivian Manuel of Clinton, Persi Beldon of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Betty Gregory of Deepwater; as well as two grandchildren, Michael Burt and Susan Lynch; five great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
