Norma Jean Shay, age 93, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Little Sisters of The Poor in Raytown, Missouri. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Clinton. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM prior to the service at Holy Rosary. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM in Resurrection Cemetery (8321 Quivira Rd, Lenexa, KS). Memorial contributions can be made to The Little Sisters of The Poor and can be left in care of the funeral home. Norma Jean Shay was born on September 5, 1928 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Earl and Beatrice Harrison.

Norma married Donald C. Shay and to this union they had one child, Patrick Shay. They lived in Cedar Rapids for many years before moving to Kansas City, Missouri.

Norma was a member of Christ the King Church in Kansas City, Missouri. She worked for Hartford Insurance for over 20 years before retiring.

Norma is preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents Earl and Beatrice, her sister and brother-in-law; Mary and Wallace Castek and her father and mother-in-law; Paul and Mary Shay.

Survivors include her children Patrick and Lori Shay of Clinton, Missouri, grandchildren; Amy Kennish, Nicholas (Briana) Shay, Laine Shay, Matthew Montaleone, great grandchildren; Hannah, Harper, Madison and Makenna.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
