Nicholas A. Moorer Jr., age 73 years, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on May 2, at 11am with visitation one hour prior at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton. A Veterans graveside service will be at 2pm at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Nicholas Moorer Memorial Fund and can be left in care of the funeral home. Nicholas was born August 1, 1942 in Mobile, Alabama. He served 20 years in the United States Air Force, SAC active duty, with 2 tours in Vietnam. After retiring from Air Force he was an over the road truck driver. After retiring he found pleasure in playing golf, fishing and hunting. He loved gambling and playing Bingo at the Warsaw Shrine Club and the American Legion where he was a member. He was always helping others. He was a 32nd degree Mason and also a Shriner. He was a God loving Christian. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather.

Survivors include his fiancé, Tammy Cosgrove, Clinton; two sisters and one brother living in Louisville, Kentucky; four children, Bernice Moorer and Nicholas Moorer, III, both of Clinton, Deborah (Roy) Gash, Peculiar, Missouri, and Darrin (Amber) Moorer, Lee's Summit, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; also many friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri.
