Millie was born in Chilhowee, Missouri, daughter of Robert and Blanche (Barbee) Graham on September 5, 1919. Millie attended De Havilland School of Beauty in Kansas City in 1938. She and Don moved to Clinton, Missouri in 1954 where she owned and operated her beauty salon for 30 plus years. After closing the salon, Millie continued to volunteer at the local nursing home's beauty shop until her first grandchild was born. Millie valued her friendships. Along with those friends she enjoyed square dancing, camping, fishing and spreading her beautiful smile plus entertaining all with her well known "antics". She was also known for making the best dinner rolls this side of the Mississippi. Rarely did her family sit down for dinner without first fixing and delivering a plate to a lonesome neighbor.
Millie and Don were members of the First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Marty Blystone and her husband, Don, plus sister Margaret Grainger and brothers Lloyd and Leland Graham.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Creighton of Overland Park, Kansas, and her two grandchildren, Connor and Sarah Creighton, both of Seattle, Washington, plus four nieces and two nephews including their families.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the National Alliance on Mental Ilness, (NAMI). P.O. Box 62596, Baltimore, MD. 21264-2596. NAMI's phone is 1/888-999-6264 and website is www.nami.org.
