Nancy (Foster) Odor was born November 2, 1929, and passed away on March 18, 2026, at the age of 96. She was born to Edward and Ethel (Wickens) Foster in Quincy, Massachusetts, and she grew up in Talihina, Oklahoma.

Nancy attended the University of Oklahoma between 1947 to 1951, as one of the only women enrolled in the university's business school at that time. She gracefully navigated completing her education in a man's world.

In 1951, after graduating from OU, she moved with her college roommate to Kansas City where she worked in advertising until the 1980's. She met her husband to be, Richard Odor, on a blind date shortly after moving there. They dated for three years before they got married. They were known to frequent the original Peanut on Main Street during the 50's. They married on April 14, 1956, and that union lasted over 60 years. They had two daughters, Julia Elaine and Janet Lee. They raised their family in the Raytown area of Kansas City. They travelled extensively together, including many trips to Hawaii, Italy, Mallorca, Spain, Ireland and Scotland. Richard and Nancy travelled to many golf courses across the United States including their annual trips to San Diego. They took a cruise to Alaska for their 50th anniversary.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and her grandson, Jonathan Horsch. She is survived by her daughters, Jan and husband Cullen Murski of Greenwood, Missouri and her daughter, Julie Foster of Bothell, Washington.

Nancy was an artist in her soul, appreciating beauty in things that other people might overlook or take for granted. She spent a lot of time researching ancestry for her family and friends, and she loved to paint and tell stories about her many adventures. She wrote a collection of her many interesting life stories during the last 20 years. She was kind and generous, loved to laugh, always curious and never stopped learning. Those were the hallmarks of her gentle spirit, and she will be missed greatly by all that knew her.
