Mikel J. Johnson, age 63 of Clinton, Missouri passed away Friday, December 24, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with burial in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. Family will receive friends one hour before the service on Tuesday at the chapel. Family suggests contributions to Boy Scout Troop 430 Clinton and may be left at the funeral home. Mike was born September 18, 1947 the son of Marvin Emmett and Helyn Louise (Parkhurst) Johnson. He served in the U. S. Army serving in Vietnam. He was a Presbyterian. He was an Eagle Scout. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
He graduated from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri with a degree in Business Administration and Political Science.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Helyn and one sister, Pat Oberkrom.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle of the home; one son, Ben Johnson and wife, Amanda and a granddaughter, Maleah, all of Liberty, Missouri; three nephews, Barry Oberkrom of Shawnee, Kansas, Kent Oberkrom of Clinton and John Oberkrom of Arlington, Texas; nine great nieces and nephews and a cousin, Richard Parkhurst of Sedalia, Missouri.
