Mary Virginia "Jenny" Pruett went to her heavenly mansion on Monday, March 2, 2015.

She was born February 21, 1928 in Clinton, Missouri to Elmer and Kate Steward. She loved to play gospels on the piano and played for 17 years at Lilly Orchard Baptist Church in Moss Point, Mississippi. She was a studio photographer and was very skilled at colorizing black and white portraits. She was a great Mom and a good provider. Her boys were her #1 priority.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Pruett, her parents, and her sisters: Sue Fletcher, Marie Harvey, Colleen Smith, and Shirley Koztelac.

She is survived by her three sons and their families. Jessie David "JD" and Mary New, Daniel Anthony "Danny" and Claudette Merritt, and Christopher Dale "Chris" and Sandy Chase. 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Her sisters: Norma Lee "Tommie" Kelly, Eva Loyd, Frieda Kay Vilain, and Carol Easter, her brother: Bob Steward, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to her nieces, "The Easter Girls": Victoria Easter Gilbert, Jackie Easter Clark, and Rita Easter Phelps for the attention they gave her during the months leading up to her death. With a special thank you to Vickie for her wonderful care and tireless dedication to their Mom for the past several years. Her care and attention is appreciated more than she will ever know.

A Memorial Service to honor her life will be held at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 11th of April at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, 314 West Jefferson St., Clinton, Missouri. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.
