Mary Margaret was born April 30, 1970 in Harrisonville, Missouri the daughter of David Lester Mills and Karen Sue (Lintecum) Kessler. She graduated from Raytown High School in 1988 and met and married Lee Bucksath where they resided in Liberty, Missouri. One son, Cody, was born to this union. In 1999 she and her son relocated to Clinton which she considered to be her home.
Mary was a MOPS After Dark MOPPET Coordinator, an Olde Glory Days Volunteer, and a Relay For Life participant. She was also a member of the Clinton Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Glen and Joan Lintecum, and paternal grandparents, John and Mary Isabelle Mills.
Survivors include her son, Cody Bucksath (Kala) of Independence, Missouri, 2 grandsons, Landen and Hudsin, her mother, Karen Kessler and her husband, Corky of Liberty, Missouri, and her father, David L. Mills and his wife Deb of Clinton, Missouri, 2 brothers, Curtis R. Mills (Shelley) and Christopher D. Mills (Melanie) both of Clinton, Missouri, 2 sisters, Carey B. Mills of Clinton, Missouri, and Crystal L. Neese (Trevor) of Papillion, Nebraska, as well as 7 nieces and nephews; Mattie, Annie, Lexi, Levi, Jake, Logan, and Aubrey, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mary was first and foremost a loving daughter to her parents and step-parents alike. She was quick to respond to help do anything and always took vacation during Olde Glory Days so that she could be at her Dad's side.
She was a devoted mother, standing by her son, Cody, through the good times and the bad, holding him close to her heart always. She became Mimi to her two grandson, loving them as her own.
She was a fun loving, caring sister, taking her role as big sister very seriously. There was nothing she enjoyed more than a family vacation to see Mickey Mouse at the Magic Kingdom.
Mary loved children. When MOPS after Dark was formed, she jumped on board loving hundreds of toddlers and preschoolers and their moms through the past five years. Helping each year at the Christian Church VBS allowed her to love even more kids as they crafted and made tie day t-shirts together.
She had an incredible underground ministry, helping untold numbers of young people, talking with them about many issues through the wee hours of the night. She was a Good Samaritan to all, helping them in any way she could, which included literally giving them the shirt off her back or providing lodging for a few nights. Her loving caring spirit to all she came in contact with will be sorely missed. Her smile and her laughter can never be replaced.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri.
