Mary Ann was born to Everett and Dorothy Parsons in La Due, MO on April 10, 1935. She graduated from Clinton High School and married Wyatt Louis Mellen.

Mary Ann was saved as a teenager. Going to church and serving the Lord was priority in her life. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist in Clinton, MO. She was a devoted daughter, wife, and mother. She was always kind, caring, and compassionate; always putting other's needs before her own. In her younger years she loved to cook and always welcomed people into her home for meals. Her specialty was homemade ice cream and it was often requested by her family at many family gatherings. She loved being outside working in her yard and visiting with her friends and neighbors. Even in later years when health issues arose, she maintained a positive attitude. She never lost her quick wit and fun sense of humor.

Mary Ann often said that the greatest joy in her life came from spending time with her grandchildren. She was never too busy to take care of them when they were young or attend any of their functions as they grew. They were all devoted to her and continued to maintain a close relationship with her even as adults.

Mary Ann will be missed by her friends and family.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Abdoler (Rich) of Clinton, Lisa Glass of Emporia, KS, grandchildren, Dr. Emily Abdoler (Dan Deckard), Rachel Abdoler (Matt Brothers), Matt Glass (Julie), Dr. Michael Glass (Candace), sister, JoAnn Brown, Brother, Jim Parsons (Carol), sister-in-law, Lelia Faye Dalsing (Herman), and seven great-grandchildren, Adah, John, Thomas, Bates, Barrett, Esther, and Edith.
