Marvin Dale Abney of Clinton, MO, (1955-2020) passed away peacefully during his sleep August 20, 2020. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 24, 2020 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, MO at 6PM with visitation one hour prior. Mavin is survived by his wife of 44 years, Helen (Stocking), their daughter, Carrie Wilcox (Clinton), and their son, Keith (Kansas City). The jewels of his eyes were his granddaughters. Myra Abney, Lydia and Katelyn Wilcox. Marvin was noted for bantering back and forth with his granddaughters as they lovingly teased each other. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.

Marvin is a son of Howard (deceased 2009) and Wilma Abney, also of Clinton. His siblings include his brother Gary (Madison, AL), Tom (Marlin, TX), and Susan (Clinton).

Marvin attended Davis R-12 followed by Clinton High School. Afterwards he lived on and farmed the home place southwest of Clinton. Additionally, he worked for Morton Buildings, in construction, and for a short time as an over the road truck driver. He moved from the farm to Clinton in 2012.

Anyone who is acquainted with Marvin knows well that he loved being out in nature. Hunting, trapping, fishing, mushroom hunting were his favorites from his childhood. He probably knew of more fishing holes and the perfect hunting spots as anyone in the area.

Marvin thoroughly enjoyed the out of doors, but he deeply loved his family and friends. He contributed so much to many lives and will be greatly missed.
