Martha Elizabeth
"Beth" White
Nov 3, 1951 — Apr 5, 2018
Springfield
Martha Elizabeth White… BETH to those knew better… )
Beth was a person who lived by example.
Over and over are stories of how she gave people a chance – whether it be in her career or by accepting friends who needed extra love.
… A chance afforded to HER by kind people. She showed grace in the way that she loved and fortitude in the way that she showed up in life.
When people think of Beth, they immediately talk about her magnetic personality, her no-nonsense style, her love for dogs and her striking beauty…with long, black hair. Her family says she was kind and generous – always willing to help. What people closest to Beth know is that she was a phoenix. She was no stranger to heartbreak and tragedy in her life, and she rose from those moments to fight, and more importantly, love, even harder.
Beth excelled in life. She was a dedicated worker in the medical field who was highly respected by her bosses, fellow workers, and peers.
Beth is described as "an incredible aunt" by her three nieces who loved her very much, and felt her support and presence in their lives. She was the baby sister to Joe and Jim, who loved and regarded her so highly, and surely greeted her with open arms on the other side. She was her sister Linda's best friend.
As we reflect on Beth's life, we come to learn that God's plan is not always revealed to us in ways we understand.
As her mind gave out, her body and spirit fought hard to hang on to her time here on Earth. She was always a fighter and showed us her inner strength – up until the very end.
Beth had a strong spiritual sense, faith in God and regularly attended church. Today, as we mourn the loss of Beth we celebrate her incredible life and know that God has welcomed her into the kingdom of heaven.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Lindsey and Lucy White, and brothers, Jim and Joe White.
She is survived by sister, Linda Persechette; and three nieces, Nancy Simpson, Pamela Shelby, and Sarah White.
