Barbara "Marlene" Blevins age 78 of Clinton, Missouri passed gracefully from this life on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com . Marlene was born in Gainesville, Florida on October 8th, 1941 to Frank Gocek, and Dorris Robbins. Marlene was raised by her Maternal Grandmother Zimmi Gocek. She called Florida home until the age of 15 when she moved to Kansas City, Missouri. At the age of 16, Marlene married the love of her life, Harold Dee Blevins Sr. in Miami, Oklahoma on May 24, 1958. They spent 51 years together, living their love story.
Throughout the years Marlene held various jobs, all of which pertained to one of her two biggest passions in life caring for others or caring for animals. She loved fiercely, and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Marlene was a member of the Golden Valley Rodeo Association and the Henry County Fair Board for several years. She loved to fish, to paint ceramics, and enjoyed taking trips with her family. Marlene was an animal lover from an early age, always having an eclectic variety of pets, including birds, monkeys, turtles, fish, alligators, horses, pigs, cats and dogs. Marlene never knew a stranger, and opened her door for anyone in need. You had never had a real hug, until you had one from her. Marlene's impact on the lives of all who knew her will be felt forever.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dee Blevins Sr.; two son's Charles Lee Blevins and William Frank Blevins, two grandchildren Roland Allen Blevins, and Misty Dawn Morris; and two great-grandchildren Rebecca Lynn Blevins, and Tyler Lee Blevins-Orr. She is survived by 6 children, Linda Marlin and Jerry Daniels of Mission, Texas, Harold "Dee" Blevins Jr. and wife Becky of Lowry City, Cynthia Heckadon of Adrian, Missouri, Dewayne Blevins and wife Lynne of Clinton, Missouri, Theresa Estep of Clinton, Missouri, Harold "Dee-Dee" Blevins and wife Christine of Kansas City, Missouri, daughter in law Debroah Blevins of Jasper, Missouri, as well as 39 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.
