Mark
Shireman
Feb 16, 1959 — Dec 13, 2022
Clinton
Mark A. Shireman retired his physical body on Tuesday December 13, 2022 while asleep at his home. A peaceful ending awarded to those of remarkable strength and extraordinary bravery.
Mark A. Shireman was born on February 16, 1959 in Fetus, Missouri to Alfred and Jean Shireman. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard as a child, and came home a survivor of the Vietnam War. The impact of this experience he carried with him throughout all his days. Mark was a man of many talents, multiple skills, and knowledge that fueled him. From dairy farming to truck driving, carpentry to millwrighting. Plus everything in between Mark did and also taught the next in line how-to. Mark was a walking encyclopedia, knowledge flowed thru him like electricity, randomly zapping topics from the entire universe to pick apart and learn about. His passions were coins, guns, history and most of all family.
Mark is preceded in death by his mother and father Jean and Alfred Shireman, and his sister Sue Rollins.
He is survived by his wife Reta Shireman, and their two daughters, Tonya Dody and Melanie Jennex, also a nephew Jess Rollins and niece Sarah Bowman and family. His grandsons Hayden Dody and Sailer Fellhauer became his reasons to push on. They simply became his pride and joys. From then on his duty was to teach these boys the best he could to become men that could change the world. Today, those boys are well on their way.
Mark was a leader and a giver, a storyteller, a hero, a phenomenal cook, a protector, a jokester, a shoulder to cry on, an explainer a helper, a believer in love, a beautiful and leathery soul that is now free from physical restraint and pain. Mark is in the hearts of every person who loved him and until we are free to join him, our hearts are where he will stay. His wisdom and spirit will live on in us.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30 PM on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the Primitive Olde Crow and Winery in Clinton, Missouri. Memorial contributions can be left to the Mark Shireman Memorial Fund and can be left in care of the funeral home.
