Lorene A. Deskins, age 89 of Brookfield, Missouri passed away Friday, January 18, 2008 at Maranatha Village, Springfield, Missouri. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Linneus Baptist Church, Linneus, Missouri. Burial will be in North Salem Cemetery, North Salem, Missouri. Family will receive friends one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church. Family suggests contributions to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home and may be left at the funeral home.

Lorene lived in the Linneus area most of her life. She was married to Charles Woodrow Deskins on June 3, 1939 and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2004. She taught elementary school for 34 years retiring in l980. She was a member of the Linneus Baptist Church where she served as organist since l966. She belonged to several organizations including the Laurel Club, Ann of Ava and the P.E.O. sisterhood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step father, Glenn Arnold and her husband, Woodrow.

Among survivors include her two sons, Gary Deskins and wife, Ann of Clinton, Missouri and Dan Deskins and wife, Gina of Springfield, Missouri and three grandsons, Tim Deskins and wife, Lesa of Clinton, Missouri, Andrew Deskins of Jacksonville, Florida and Stephen Deskins of Springfield, Missouri.
