On May 10 th , 1958 she married Elmer Lee Elliott, the love of her life. They spent their years together in the Kansas City area, before making their final home in Clinton, MO.

Lois loved the Lord, her family, church, and her country. She considered her children and grandchildren her greatest blessing. She spent most of her years as a homemaker and served in a nursing home and in private home care as a Certified Nurse Aide. Her heart was to always love, care for, and serve people. She loved big family dinners where her specialty was homemade chicken and noodles, a recipe she loved to teach her grandkids and anyone else.

As much as she loved big family meals, she treasured impromptu visits from friends, neighbors, and family. She was always ready with a meal, a cup of coffee or sweet tea, and a hug. She loved people and she loved well.

More than anything else, she loved and served the Lord. She came to know the Lord on Flag Day as a young girl. She always helped in her local church. She was a Sunday school teacher, a Bible study leader, and served meals to the church body, through Meals on Wheels.

She was nominated for and served as the National Day of Prayer Coordinator for Clinton, MO, a great honor that combined her love of God and Country. She spent over 20 years serving under Pastor Jim Freeman at Friendly Pentecostal and the last 5 years at her brother Tom Smiths church, Straight Up Ministries.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Lee Elliott, her parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, 1 sibling: Bob Smith and one beautiful grandson, Daniel Wayne Bass.
