Lena "Edith" Houk age 94 of Clinton, MO passed Friday, October 21, 2011 at her home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with interment in Norris Cemetery, Urich, Missouri. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the chapel. Family suggests memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice and may be left in care of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton. Edith was a cook for the Clinton High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Clinton.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Owen and Lena (Ade) Byers; her husband, Walter E. Houk, Sr.; grandson, Richard Bryan Houk; two brothers, Clarence Byers and Lloyd Byers and two sisters, Thelma Lawson and Elsie Marcella Byers.

Edith is survived by her sons, Walter Houk, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, Richard Houk of Deepwater, Missouri and Phillip Houk of Clinton; daughters Loretta Webb of Bates City, Missouri and Linda Hessenflow of Clinton; daughter-in-law Luanei Houk of Enumclaw, Washington; sister Bonnie Batschelet of Butler, Missouri; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
