Leland McGinnis, 71 of Clinton, Missouri passed away, Thursday, May 2, 2019 at his home in Clinton. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com . Funeral service will be on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 11am with visitation one hour prior at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri. Graveside service will be on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 10am at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas. The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to The Wounded Warriors and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Leland was born in 1947 in Portsmouth, Ohio to David Eugene and Hazel (Osborn) McGinnis.  He and wife Colleen Gay (Kincaid) married in 1970 enjoying 49 years.  He retired from General Motors in 2004 after 32 years. They had been residents of Clinton for the past 18 years.  They formerly lived in Bonner Springs, KS. for 24 years.  He was a member of the U.A.W. Local #31 in Fairfax.  Lee was an army veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as an expert marksman.  He was a member of the Clinton Country Club.  He was a believer in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Surviving Lee is his wife Colleen, of the home; daughters, Heather Strouhal, Leavenworth, KS., Megan McNeal, Parkville, MO., and Brandi Potter, Sedalia, MO.; brother David McGinnis, Wapakoneta, OH.; five grandsons and two granddaughters.
