LaVerna M. Dickey, age 93, of Clinton, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at Westwood Nursing Home, Clinton.  Memorial Services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.  Family request memorial contributions be made to C.A.R.E.(Clinton Animal Rescue Endeavor) and may be left in care of funeral home.  Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com .

LaVerna was born in Liberty, Missouri.  She was a graduate of Buckner High School, Buckner, Missouri.  LaVerna was employed with Lake City Ammunition for 25 years before retiring there.  She was an outdoors enthusiast and enjoyed bird watching, fishing, and gardening.  She was a gifted artist and loved to paint.

LaVerna is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wilbur, three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include a son, John Paxton of Blue Springs, Missouri; step-daughter, Peggy (Don) Cline of Independence, Missouri; grandson, Mark Paxton of Blue Springs, Missouri; and great-grandchildren, Heather Paxton of Blue Springs, Missouri  and Ryan Paxton, Grain Valley, Missouri.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.
