Obituary

On August 4, 2026, surrounded by her family, Karen Sue Lozaw got to meet Jesus, just as she always said she would. While we will miss her every day, we are thankful for the life she lived and the example she set for all of us. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 7, 2026 at 2:00PM at the Vansant-Mills Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00PM. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, MO. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and may be left in care of the funeral home. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com .

Karen was married to the love of her life, Gene Lozaw, for nearly 59 years. They would have celebrated their anniversary on August 19. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and making memories. They lived in Lebanon, Missouri, for almost 40 years and loved taking trips to the mountains. They also shared a love of photography. Karen had a knack for taking simple, everyday pictures that often turned into some of her favorite surprises.

She never let physical limitations decide what she could or couldn't do. She lived life with determination and always found ways to keep doing the things she loved.

Karen's faith wasn't something she just talked about—it showed in the way she treated people. She loved everyone, made people feel welcome, and always took time for others. Delivery drivers, neighbors, and friends knew they could count on stopping by for a visit because she always made people feel at home. She cared about people like they were part of her own family.

Nothing made her happier than having her family together. She put her whole heart into every gathering, especially Christmas, making sure everyone felt loved and every detail was just right. One of her favorite things was creating photo and video slideshows for family events. She spent countless hours on them, and seeing her family smile made every minute worthwhile.

Her greatest joy was her family, especially her "Chickies," as she affectionately called her children and their spouses: Sean and Shelly Keefe, Tracy Lozaw and Devin Easter, and Matt and Jennifer Lozaw. She was incredibly proud of her grandchildren, Bryan Keefe; Aaron and Jadyn Keefe; Nate and Sam Lozaw; and Logan, Laira, and Lauren Lozaw. She was also looking forward to welcoming her first great-grandchild, due in January 2027.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Dorothy Dickey. She is survived by her husband, Gene Lozaw; her children and their spouses; her grandchildren; her brother, David Dickey; and her sister, Diane Leheney.

She leaves behind a family that will miss her deeply, along with countless friends, neighbors, and others who were lucky enough to know her. We will miss her stories, her laughter, her big celebrations, and the way she always made time for people. Her love, faith, and the memories she created will stay with us until we see her again.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
