Joyce Fristoe, age 89, formerly of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Bothwell Regional Hospital, Sedalia, Missouri.  Condolences and fond memories may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com .

Joyce Fristoe, Sedalia, MO., formerly from Clinton, was born on September 28, 1930 in Stratford, TX, the twin daughter of John and Dolly (Paul) Garoutte.  After the death of her father, the family moved to Windsor, MO., where Joyce graduated from Windsor High School.  Joyce married Jasper "Jack" Fristoe on May 12, 1949.  While Jack was serving Korea, Joyce furthered her education by attending a business school in Kansas City, MO.  Joyce worked at JC Penney on the Clinton square for many years, beginning as a clerk and working her way to manager and buyer for ladies fashions.  After the store closed, Joyce worked at Montgomery Ward and later Sears until her retirement.Joyce's family always came first.  She was a gracious hostess and loved cooking dinners for the entire family.  It was always a request for her to bring her famous green beans to dinner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack; sister Joan Mullins; brother John Garoutte, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Vicki and husband John; her sister Violet Johns; grandaughter April; and great grandchildren Hannah and Cooper.

There will be no services per Joyce's request.
