Dec 23, 1935 — Mar 4, 2025
Clinton
Joy (Frisch) Jones, 89, passed away peacefully at her home on March 4, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel in Clinton, Missouri with visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church or to St. Jude Children's Hospital and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Joy was born on December 23, 1935, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Eldon and Marie Frisch. One of eight children, including a twin, Joy grew up in a loving and close-knit family. She carried that same warmth and devotion into her own life, always putting family at the heart of everything she did.
Joy married the love of her life, Ewell Jones, and together they spent 71 wonderful years building a life centered on faith, family, and adventure. As an Air Force wife, she embraced the journey of living overseas for many years while supporting Ewell's military career. No matter where life took them, she created a warm and loving home.
After their time in the Air Force, Joy and Ewell settled down in Polo, MO and pursued a fulfilling life together. They became business owners, successfully running both a liquor store and a sporting goods store. Their entrepreneurial spirit was matched by their love for the land—they
raised their own cattle and chickens and grew much of their own food, living a hardworking and self-sufficient lifestyle for many years before retiring to Truman Lake for a more relaxing lifestyle.
One of Joy's greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. She and Ewell played a major role in raising their two oldest grandchildren, creating countless cherished memories filled with love, laughter, and life lessons that will never be forgotten.
Joy was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was known for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Whether she was spending time with her family, tending to her home, or sharing stories of the
past, she brought joy to everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Ewell Jones; her daughter, Cindy Heinold; three grandchildren, Kellie King, Chris Hogan, and Eric Jelinek; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Jelinek.
Her life was a testament to love, strength, and faith. She touched the hearts of many and left behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and hard work..
Joy will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
