Obituary

Dr. John Hugh Snider, Jr. son of John William and Rosa Lee Capps Snider was born May 9, 1922 in Kirksville, Missouri and passed away at his home in Clinton on Sunday evening, May 27, 2007.

John was a graduate of Kirksville High School and Cleveland Chiropractic College, Kansas City. He began his practice in 1955. He was a member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge No. 548 and attended Northeast Baptist Church as health permitted.

John was a quiet and loving husband, father and doctor. He practiced in Richland and Mt. Grove, Missouri before moving to Clinton in 1975. He was quite the entrepreneur holding patents on several inventions. In 1970, he began working and perfecting what is today a revolutionary method of dispensing soap using only air and liquid. His passion was that soap machine- rarely took time to relax. He so wanted to leave a legacy to his family, however, time, money and health ran out. As an adventurous young man, he and four of his friends drove the Alcan Highway to Alaska working on the Alaska Railroad and pipeline to the US. He always told the story of one day while he was pushing dirt he thought he had struck gold. How excited he was, but it turned out to be 'fools gold'. He loved his mini schnauzers, Jodi and Scoobie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harold H. Snider of Osceola and Ivan Lee Snider of Daytona Beach, Florida. He is survived by wife of 34 years, Rita Snider of Clinton, daughters, Tracy (McNeely) and husband, Damon Anstine and children Alyssa, Lannah and Colby of Clinton, Lisa (Snider) and husband, Randy Aird and children, Christopher Moran and Brian Aird of Dubuque, Iowa and Debbie (Snider) and husband Otho Smith and children, Sarah and Brock Cooper, and Emily Smith of Columbia, Missouri. A great grandchild is due in October. Also, sister, Hilda Jane Renick of Dalhart, Texas.

"PaPa" will be sadly missed but will stay in our hearts forever.

Dr. Snider was cremated and a burial will follow at a later date.
