Obituary

John David Mead age 57, of Clinton, Missouri, passed away, Monday, September 7th, 2026 at his home. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com .

John David Mead was born on September 13, 1969, in Clinton, Missouri, to Robert Mead and Janice Bradshaw. He was raised in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1989.

John had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and spent countless hours exploring the creeks throughout the county in search of arrowheads, building an impressive collection over the years. He also enjoyed searching the roadsides for wild asparagus. One of his greatest joys was bringing home a full bag for his mother, knowing how much she enjoyed it.  Another of John's passions was attending auctions. If Booker's was hosting an auction, there was a good chance John would be there. He loved the thrill of discovering hidden treasures and was always convinced that the next box of miscellaneous items might contain his fortune. Above all, John will be remembered for his generous spirit and compassionate heart. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help those in need, often going above and beyond to support others. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and he shared an especially close bond with his brother, who was also his best friend. The impact John had on those who knew and loved him is immeasurable, and his absence will be deeply felt.

John was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, and his son. He is survived by his children, Kelcee, Alicia, and Tyler; his two bonus sons, Anthony and Trever; his mother, Janice; his brother, Scott; his sister, Holly; and several beloved nieces and
nephews.

John's kindness, generosity, and love for his family will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will be cherished forever
