Johnny Jim was born February 26, 1963 in Clinton, Missouri, the son of John Robert and Sandra Kay (Marksberry) Engel.

He is survived by his wife, Lorrie of the home; one son, John Kyle Engel and Chelsea of Montrose, Missouri; one brother, Wyatt Lane Engel of Blairstown, Missouri; his mother, Sandra Kay Engel of Clinton, Missouri and his father, John Robert Engel of Blairstown, Missouri.
